LPC (Licensed Professional Counseling) COUNSELING –

LPC Counseling is conducted by an individual that has met the licensure requirements of the state in which they counsel. This counseling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education and career goals.

House of Refuge Ministries provides Christian Counseling which is LPC Counselors that draw on psychology and approaches it through the lens of the Bible. Christian Counselors apply the revelation of the life and love of Jesus Christ as they help individuals make life changes and heal from the effects of abuse for the better.

 

BIBLICAL COUNSELING –

Biblical Counseling is the ministering of Scriptures in the Bible to those who are facing life struggles or who desire wisdom or God’s direction. It is a ministry of the Christian church where transformed believers of Christ Jesus who are indwelled, baptized, and led by the Holy Spirit minister the Word of God to others with the goals of evangelizing those who are not believers and teaching those who are believers.

Biblical Counseling is based on the belief that the Bible is all sufficient Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peters 1:3-4; Psalms 119; James 4:4) which makes it superior for the task of counseling. Biblical Counselors realize that people can and do face crises that are a direct result of sin, as well are not a direct result f their own personal sin. Therefore, Biblical Counselors loving and purposefully walk with, serve, encourage, confront and help people through their life crises.
